Want to park somewhere downtown and unsure what each color represent? We know it can be confusing at times especially when we don’t use the parking zones everyday.


Parking Zones:
Red Zone – No Parking/No Stopping at any time.
If ANY part of your vehicle extends into the red zone, you can be ticketed.
Yellow Zone –Commercial Loading Zones (trucks and commercial vehicles)
Intended for loading and unloading goods for 20 minutes. Passengers can also load/unload passengers for 3 minutes. Yellow is in effect between 6:00am to 6:00pm, which means you will be allowed park there any other time before and after the effect time, Sunday, and City holidays.
Green Zone – Short-term Time Limit Parking Zones
Usually between 10-30mins, but exact time frame will be painted on the curb or posted on a sign. The time limits are in effect from 8:00am to 6:00pm (Monday thru Saturday). You can park any time before or after the effective time, Sunday and City Holidays.
White Zone – Passenger Loading Zones 
No parking and is effective 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. You may have up to 3 minutes to load/unload but sometimes it can be longer depending on location.
Blue Zone – Disabled Persons Parking Zones
Must have a disabled placard or licenses plate issued by Disabled Persons by the California DMV to be able to park in the blue zone. Out of state/country place card will be allowed. If you have a disable placard you can also park in green curbs or in time limit zones with no time restrictions. Metered spaces will be free and there will be no time restrictions.
Time Limit Parking Signs – One- hour and two-hour time limit parking zones
Depending on what the sign displays you will need to follow the time limit it permits you to park. Zones are effective during 8:00am to 6:00pm. Free parking before and after effective time, Sunday and City holidays.
Parking Meter – 
Each parking meter has its time limit, hourly rates and hourly enforcement for parking posted on the meter. No vehicle should be parked in the meter longer than the posted time limit. Feeding the meter is not allowed to increase parking time. Meters are free to park after 6:00pm.
